Hi everybody,
Well, there it is, mi June Study Burn with the La Mancha windmills of Mota del Cuervo. For the figures of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, I used the example of an engraving of the 19th century French ilustrator Gustave Doré. Doré ilustrated an French edition of the Quixote in the 1860th, and this knight and squire are part of the scenery of one of these ilustrations.
In my woodburning I changed a "little bit" the Quixote story. Using the fact that a storm in 2007 destroyed part of the blades of these windmills (that´s the year I took the photograph), it now looks like that Don Quioxte fought against the "giants" and finally won and destroyed them!!! Even his horse looks triumphant and his lance is not broken...
I hope you like the burning!
Jurgen

Thank you David! I am sure you´ll like the Study Burns, because you´ll learn a lot of things, so get your woodburner, you are still in time to do this one till the end of Month. Ok, I am just joking... Perhaps you get inspired for next month, July. I hope you do and participate with this fascinating project,
Jurgen

Thank you John and Merv, I am very pleased you like the Spanish scenery! One of these horses is supposed to be the donkey of Sancho Panza, but well, it´s not a quite good example of a donkey. Perhaps it looks like a little horse with big ears... The French artist Gustave Doré drew the characters of the Quixote, already at the 19th century, like funny cartoons, and it´s possible that these funny images we have nowadays about the knight and his squire date form these original ilustrations of Doré.

Hi Athina, thank you very much! You did a very beautiful burning also, with a beautiful threatening sky! I normally don´t burn the skies and leave the grains of the wood do their work, but I love the sky you did!
