Today I used my soldering iron(my friend gives me the idea). That works very well, just had to work quickly just to not realy get my wood on fire!
The background is getting pretty like I want it to be, but it's a learning process.

Sorry for the flash in the pic., but it shows the color better then without the flash.

all advice and comments are more than welcome!

Wow Frieke...done this with a soldering iron?! Love how the flower on the horse's back is coming out. You have to keep your own way of burn, but maybe I would darken up the background?

Hello Carola,

I think too about darken up the background. Just need to find some time....lol
Only for the background I used that soldering iron, and what I like about it, it doesn't loose the heat. You can keep on burning all the time.
I've got the books now from L.Irish and Sue Walters about woodburning.
Still a lot to learn and many new patterns!

I think it's an awesome burn! Amazing you get these tones with a soldering iron! I started burning with a soldering iron and it's very hard to get these tones with it...Petje af Frieke!
